Principal's Message

Welcome to Crescent Heights Social Justice and S.T.E.A.M Magnet Elementary School!

It is an honor and pleasure to be the principal of such a fantastic group of dedicated and caring faculty and staff. I am fully dedicated to making sure that Crescent Heights Magnet will be safe, welcoming and an exceptional place for learning. I have three goals.  The first being to ensure our students learn tolerance and anti-bias by always looking at both sides of an argument and seeking positive solutions. My second goal is to teach our students that we are interconnected and every action we take affects our environment in some way.  We have a responsibility to our world to be productive, positive, and non-judgmental of others so we can all become the best versions of ourselves.  My third goal is to build a strong, engaging and exciting STEAM learning plan that provides for an outstanding educational experience for all students. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. Our children deserve the best and this approach is fun and memorable!

Crescent Heights serves approximately 350 students from Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade.  We are a student-centered elementary school that prides itself on working closely with families as partners to create an exceptional learning environment for all students. Our school community is committed to delivering content directly aligned to the Common Core State Standards.  Our goal is to enable all students to become successful members of our community through consistent academic and social emotional development.  We strive to provide a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment filled with a variety of programs and services to meet the varied learning needs of our students.

The following set of shared values guide our beliefs about teaching and learning.  High expectations, Adequate support and intervention, Differentiated instruction, Critical thinking and problem solving, Collaboration, Creativity, Communication, Character/Connectivity and Citizenship/Culture.

Finally, we believe in building partnerships between school, home, and community. Through these shared values and beliefs, students experience an education that is profound and lasting. We recognize that a successful school experience is the result of a shared responsibility between the home and the school.  Our faculty and staff is committed to ensuring your child receives the greatest learning experience possible, and we see you, the parents and guardians, as our partners in the learning process.  We firmly believe that when the home and school work together as a team, our students gain immeasurable benefits.

Students are our number one priority.  Please know that we are here to support you to reach your greatest potential.

In Service,

Aleta Rose, Principal
